At Captain Number, we think learning maths should be an exciting adventure—especially for little ones! Our goal is to make STEM (science, technology, engineering, and maths) fun and accessible for children aged 2-5, so they can start exploring and building critical thinking skills early on. Through hands-on activities, games, and stories with our pirate mascot, Captain Number, we create an environment where kids can get curious, solve problems, and love learning.

We know that introducing maths at this age sets the stage for future success, so we focus on making maths enjoyable and meaningful in everyday life. Here’s how we do it:
Encouraging Independent Thinking: We love asking open-ended questions like, "How do you know that’s correct?" It helps kids think for themselves and boosts their confidence when solving problems without always needing adult help.
Building Maths Vocabulary: We make sure kids learn the right terms (like add, subtract, more, and less) so they can talk about what they're learning. This way, they’ll feel ready for school discussions and maths challenges.
Maths in Everyday Life: We connect maths to the real world—like counting apples at the store or measuring ingredients while baking. This helps children see how maths is everywhere and useful!
Problem-Solving with Fun Challenges: We keep maths hands-on and interactive. For example, we might role-play sharing 10 toy cars equally. These types of challenges help kids practice solving problems and thinking critically.
Building Confidence with Numbers: We work on number recognition, counting, and simple addition/subtraction regularly so kids get comfortable with numbers and can use them in daily life. This sets them up for success as they move into school!
At Captain Number, we want to show kids that maths doesn’t have to be scary or boring. With a little creativity and a lot of fun, we can make learning maths an exciting part of their early childhood journey!
